GUUMBARR’S VISION IS TO PROVIDE THE MEANS AND OPPORTUNITIES TO ACHIEVE SELF-SUFFICIENCY

Guumbarr was established on 16 May 2012 as a trustee company by Waardi Limited and is responsible for the management of the trusts and benefits derived from the Browse LNG Precinct Project Agreement (Agreement) for the Goolarabooloo Jabirr Jabirr (GJJ) people.

Guumbarr’s Mission: Engaging GJJ people to take up opportunities to improve Education, Training, Employment and Social Wellbeing.

The initiatives under the Agreement are designed to address levels of disadvantage and promote opportunities in the areas of health, education, training, sporting and arts, emergency relief, cultural activities, child care, elders, funerals, living on country, housing and economic development.

Due to Woodside withdrawing from the Agreement there is limited funding available and as such not all the programs are able to be delivered. Refer to the Assistance Programs page for further details.
